Martin Scorsese’s latest epic "Killers of the Flower Moon" continues to have a mild presence at the global box office. As of November 13, 2023, the movie has grossed over $137 million worldwide.
Last week, several box office gurus predicted that "Killers of the Flower Moon" is going to be a big-budget flop given its long running time, the SAG-AFTRA strike, and competition from Taylor Swift’s "Eras Tour." But it continues to have a presence in the international markets while performing moderate in the domestic market.
Martin Scorsese's dream project has a budget of $200 million. The movie was co-financed by Apple TV+ along with Paramount.
Killers of the Flower Moon Box Office Prediction
Killers of the Flower Moon gained critical plaudits and attention upon its premiere on May 20, 2023, at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. Later, on October 20, 2023, the movie was released in the US. Since then, it made $137 million against a $200 million budget.
However, the movie has a long way to go to make actual profits although it has been gaining attention among audiences from the United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
On November 2, 2023, Killers of the Flower Moon achieved the $100 million mark at the box office. And as when I'm writing, it has grossed a total of $137 million worldwide.
The movie earned $59.9 million in the United States and Canada and $77.2 million in the international market.
Analysts predict that a movie with such a huge budget must need around $600 million to consider itself a box-office success.

Killers of the Flower Moon is based on David Grann's book of the same name. The plot centers around the real-life Osage Native American murders in Osage County. Director Martin Scorsese co-wrote the screenplay with Eric Roth.
The film soundtrack was made by the late Robbie Robertson. He died two months before the film's theatrical release.
Robertson was one of Martin Scorsese's frequent collaborators. He made the soundtracks of The Wolf of Wall Street and The Irishman, among several others. The former was one of Martin Scorsese's highest grossing films while the latter one was released in 2019, and was a box-office flop.
Scorsese dedicates the movie to Robertson's memory.
Where to Watch Killers of the Flower Moon
The only way you can watch Killers of the Flower Moon is at your nearest movie theater, or you can wait till the movie comes out online. The movie will be streaming exclusively on Apple TV+.
However, Apple hasn't clarified the online release date. Their official page says "at a later date."

ReplyDeleteIf this film gets the Best Picture award and “snubs” Oppenheimer, I think Oppenhimer is the better film, anyone who didn't see it and doesn't have Apple TV+ will get it to see why this won.
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to see what Napoleon does. It's currently tracking $24 million over Thanksgiving. Same as Killers, but, it is 45 minutes less in length and is a war film.
